I grew up in Saudi Arabia and moved to the US in 2013 to begin my academic career at UC San Diego. As a student in chemical engineering, I undertook research with Prof. Darren J. Lipomi to study the thermal and mechanical properties of semiconducting polymers. In 2018, I defended my MS thesis entitled "Convenient Approaches for Measuring the Glass Transition and Fracture Behavior of Semiconducting Polymers." I am now a PhD student and researcher in the chemical engineering program at MIT investigating water purification by shock electrodialysis in Prof. Martin Z. Bazant's group.
